The blackberry Curve will be available from Verizon as of May 9. We saw the official announcement come from Verizon back in late-March, but at the time it was just left as “coming in May.” Well those few waiting Verizon customers can now let out a sigh of relief as its finally been given a date.
The Curve will be available online only beginning on May 9 and hit the retail stores just a few days later on May 12. A two-year agreement along with $270 (after a $50 mail-in-rebate) will put one in your hand, or $439.99 with no agreement.

Earlier this year the epic battle for the next-gen disc technology was finally ended with Blu-ray becoming the victor. However, I’m still not convinced that a new disc technology is what the industry really needs. With high-speed internet more widely available than ever before and hard drive sizes reaching over 1TB, it only seems logical that we’ll turn to digital distribution with movies, just as we’ve done with music. Once again, Apple is making strides that will no doubt help us along that path.
Apple has announced that they have worked with a number of studios (both big and small) too make sure that many movies will be available on iTunes the same day they are released on DVD. Prices for new releases will set you back $14.99, while most others will only run $9.99. I’m still not ready to dump my DVD catalog and go all digital, but I really do think that this is the future.

Have you ever ate at a Chinese Food Restaurant and forgot to bring your pair of personal chopsticks? Sure, you could ask the waiter or waitress for a pair, but what if he or she doesn’t speak English?
Okay, that probably won’t really happen, but I think you see my point: it would be nice to have some chopsticks to carry around with you, but how could you do that? You could put them in your pocket, but that could easily lead to a lot of “are those chopsticks in your pants, or are you happy to see me” jokes.
Fortunately, the Stix glasses are here for you. The Stix glasses allow you to put your stick utensils in a place where you won’t forget them: your glasses. All you need to do is take them out of your glasses frame, and you are good to go. Not only can you use your chopsticks to eat, but you can also put them in your hair!
I would like to make a disclaimer. Normally, I never bad mouth a product, because I believe that every gadget that I review has a use somewhere. I’m sure that there is someone who needs these, but I can’t imagine who.

You never really know what you’re going to get when peering through entries in Microsoft’s Next-Gen PC Design Competition, and the above pictured device is definitely evidence of that. The AlphaGrip Handheld Computer (or AlphaGrip HC, for short), boasts full-size rocker keys on the front along with a flip-up display and a keypad made specifically for thumb-typing. There’s also a trackball for mousing about and a slew of buttons to handle “sophisticated PC games” while standing on a crowded subway. Still, we can’t help but notice just how much this thing reminds us of our days tinkering with the defunct-from-birth Atari Jaguar, and we also can’t imagine anyone with a shred of dignity ever pulling this abomination out in public. Kudos for imagination, though.

Yeah, that fancy press shot has a certain beauty to it, but there’s just nothing like spotting a highly coveted console in the wild. Thanks to our cameraphone toting tipster in Belgium, we’re presented with the first image of the GTA IV bundle sitting on a shelf just waiting for someone to trade their €450 in and take it home. Oh, and if you’re wondering what type of shop places a sweet PS3 beside an assortment of blank media, a coffee mug and what appears to be a CRT television circa 1990, it’s Free Record Shop in Antwerp, sucka.
[Thanks, Yannick]

Do I realize that the cold seasons have passed and that the heat of summer is just around the corner? Do I ever, and frankly I can’t wait! It’s understood that some of you out there are fall and winter lovers. That’s cool, I’m just not down with it. The cold seasons have that unforgiving side effect of shivering which is enough to warrant disdain from this chilly blogger.
Now that the steamy seasons of summer are quickly approaching, it’s time to start planning for the chill that will start moving in around September. One of the reasons I despise winter so much is the way that winter apparel is always in the way of me fulfilling my gadget duties. Wearing clunky gloves means I can’t text message properly. Wearing a hat to cover my ears means I can’t listen to my iPod without looking awkward or feeling uncomfortable. The iLogic Sound Hat allows for an ear warming and music listening synergy.
The iLogic Sound Hat allows you to plug your ipod or other portable media device directly into integrated speakers inside of the hat’s surface with a standard 3.5mm headphone port connected to a 98cm wire which is easily tucked away into the hat’s inner lining. The beanie itself has a fleecy feel on its interior, despite the hat’s composition of 100% polyester.
If you’re interested in grabbing the iLogic Sound Hat a few seasons early in preparation for the inevitable winter of 2008-2009, you can snatch up your own Sound Hat from I Want One Of Those for £14.99, which is about $27. A fair price for keeping your ears cozy and frostbite-free.
