Mini Megaphone

Cheer on your favorite sports team with the Mini Megaphone. Sounds like an oxymoron, I know, but at least you don’t have to shout yourself hoarse whenever you see Roger Federer toying with his opponent on the Center Court. Retailing for just $15 a pop, it comes with an On/Off button, volume controls and a power indicator light. No idea how long the three AAA batteries required to power it will last, but for folks heading to Austria for the Euro 2008 Finals this summer, this is one nifty gadget to have if you don’t want to end up voiceless at work the next day.

Digital Photography Tips: Exposure, Shutter Speed And Aperture

This video provides a brief but thorough explanation of the basics of controlling Exposure, Shutter Speed, and Aperture, which will allow you to achieve results that cannot be obtained with any of your camera's automatic or "scene" settings.

You can "tailor" your photos to emphasize or de-emphasize certain elements by controlling light and depth of field and turn an ordinary scene into one that is dramatic.

Of course you can also take several shots using "Auto" and/or any other settings you want to insure that you get an acceptable picture and then you can make changes or corrections at home by using a digital photo graphics program.

Try it, you have nothing to lose, and because it's digital you only pay for what you print so there's no waste.

After you view the video click the link beneath it and see what other video tutorials are available at the "Picturesocial" website.

Take a camera with you whenever possible, and look around, you'll find a picture somewhere.

ZARVA’s Zippo MP320 MP3 player, free to WWIII G.I.s

by Thomas Ricker, posted May 16th 2008 at 8:25AM
About the only thing to deliver more tactile satisfaction than the popping of bubble wrap is the act of casually opening and closing a Zippo lighter at the bar. While you won’t find anything about it on Zippo’s corporate site, Zarva has announced its new Zippo MP320 mp3 player. You get than tiny screen, built-in mic, minimal MP3 and WMA format support, and just 1GB of capacity for 188 of the Chinese stuff or about 27 of the green. But if this Zippo turns on with a well placed finger snap or rough, to-and-fro swipe against our faded 501s then you can count us in.

Take phones, leave wallets, says survey

Forget the cash, forget the credit cards, you can even forget the family pictures – mobile phones are now more important to people than their wallets. A recent survey found that more than 38% of workers would choose their mobile phones over other essentials – including their wallets, keys, laptops or digital music players if they had to leave the house for 24 hours and could take only one item.

The survey was sponsored by Nortel Networks Corp, market research firm IDC conducted the survey and found that more than 38% people chose their mobile phones first, while less than 30% picked their wallets as their essential of choice.

Nortel, who is North America’s biggest telephone gear maker was trying to determine how many workers can be defined as “hyperconnected,” or people who use at least seven devices for work and personal access, and at least nine applications like e-mail, chat or social networking sites. The answer was 16%, and that number, at least according to the survey, can be expected to rise up to 40% in the next five years.
