H16A Smartphone

The H16A might look like any other high end slide-out smartphones in the market, and you can be excused for thinking that way. After all, the design isn’t exactly inspired, and I don’t think anyone has thought of a way to turn this design around in a slimmer form factor yet. This will be the business person’s constant companion, so hopefully the battery has more than enough juice to handle all the features and functions that come along with the H16A.

  • Quad-band GSM 850/900/1800/1900
  • Samsung S3C2440A 400MHz processor
  • 128MB ROM
  • 64MB RAM
  • 2.8″ TFT LCD 240 x 320 resolution display
  • QWERTY keyboard
  • Windows Mobile 5.0 operating system
  • Bluetooth 1.2 connectivity
  • Wi-Fi connectivity
  • miniSD memory card slot
  • mini USB connectivity

Will you choose a more noteworthy manufacturer instead of relying on something like the H16A?

Rumor: Nikon D90 to cost $1299

That’s coming from someone who claims to be a Circuit City employee. The price seems to be in the ballpark, so this is somewhat credible, but as we say, it’s just a rumor. (seen on Nikon Rumors)

While checking our DSLR inventory I noticed that the Nikon D90 with an 18-105mm VR lens was listed as an active SKU in our system. The price came up at $1299.99. I started a ticket and it was actually letting me special order the camera. The Web ID for the camera is NIK D90KIT18105VR.

D90 outed by inventory screen at $1,300 asking price

by Paul Miller, posted Aug 11th 2008 at 5:44PM
As Photokina looms large, D90 rumors have been in abundance — with a varying range of legitimacy. This here Circuit City inventory screenshot, however, has a ring of truth to it, and even unveils a pricetag in the process: $1299.99. Not bad for rumored specs that include a 12 megapixel Live View sensor, video recording, HDMI out and GPS. The price also includes that new 18-105mm VR lens, but there’s no more info to be had at the moment. A little help, Nikon? We won’t tell a soul, we swear.

HTC Touch Dual Review - CNET

CNET reviews the HTC Touch Dual and writes, “Moving onto some of the multimedia capabilities, the Touch Dual is equipped with a 2-megapixel camera with up to 8x zoom and video recording. The editing features and settings are on par with other camera-equipped smartphones. You can choose from five resolutions and four quality settings, while in video mode, you only have a choice of four resolutions. White balance and brightness controls are available to get the best image. Other tools include a self-timer, flicker adjustment, various effects, and a photo counter.”

EmoGlove Evaluates Software Quality

At first glance, I thought the EmoGlove had something to do with whiny programmers, but I was wrong. This peripheral supposedly helps companies evaluate the quality of their software applications as it tracks virtually all movements of the mouse and keystrokes on a keyboard, coupled with eye movements and one’s facial expressions. All that data will be gathered and fed into a special software which will then determine the subject’s emotional attitude towards the application in question. All that is also assisted by the EmoGlove’s ability to measure heart rate, skin resistance and body temperature. This will then enable software companies to find out whether their product appeals to the masses or not. Too bad it doesn’t check the IQ level as it would’ve failed the I Am Rich iphone app in the first place.

Getting a Mac for school? Don’t forget the free iPod Touch

Apple runs a back-to-school promotion until September 15 that involves an “up-to” $299 rebate for those who purchase a MacBook computer and an ipod. Obviously, if you aren’t very good at sending rebate information, you should think twice about this. But if you are good with paperwork, and if you were going to get a MacBook anyways, then it might be a good deal. Go to the apple website for more details.

MP3 Player That Smells

Want an MP3 player that does more than just play boring music? How about an MP3 player that gives out a (nice) smell? Though these MP3 players only sport 256MB of storage (which is measly by today’s standards), they’re able to give off a scent such as chocolate, rose, lemon, strawberry and some others. There probably won’t be too many people out there who want an mp3 player that smells, though it might be something to check out if your pockets have a bad smell.
